Matt Jones was sworn in as the Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade on June
9, 2023. He previously served as the Minister of Affordability and Utilities and
the Minister of Children's Services.
Prior to his service as an elected official, Mr. Jones worked as an investment
banker helping Alberta based businesses with capital raises, acquisitions and
divestitures.
Mr. Jones is a CFA Charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from
the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.
Matt Jones was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for
Calgary-South East on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.
