JEFFREY SUNDQUIST, ICD.D is an investor in private equity and a Board Governance leader. He was recently the Board Vice-Chair and President & CEO of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, one of Canada’s largest, longest running, and most influential business organizations, representing the commercial and policy interests of the business community for over 130 years. He Chaired the Canadian Chamber’s Executive Council and served on the Board of the Canadian Global Cities Council.
Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer of EDC Environmental Group of Companies, the parent investment company of environmental services companies in Canada and the United States treating industrial wastewater and contaminated soil, where he remains involved in governance.
Serving at senior executive levels in both private and public sectors, Jeffrey has significant experience in economic development, investment attraction and trade, international diplomacy, corporate strategy, acquisitions, finance, and higher education.
Mr. Sundquist successfully represented Alberta’s policy, trade, investment and reputational interests in Europe as a former senior diplomat appointed to the High Commission of Canada in London. There, he was responsible for the economic and diplomatic relations with the UK, Northern Ireland, the European Union and its then 28 member states.
He has worked internationally throughout his professional career, conducting business in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and the United States.
As a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Jeffrey provides corporate governance and serves on the Board of Celebrate Canada Worldwide, EDC Environmental Group of Companies, and has served on many other Boards including Edmonton Global, The Canada UK Chamber of Commerce (London), China National Petroleum Corporation-Alberta Petroleum Centre (Beijing) among others.
